Waterloo Regional Police say they used a taser early this morning, after a woman was trying to harm herself and threatened the responding officers.

Police say at about 3 a.m., they were called to a domestic disturbance on Paris Boulevard in Waterloo.

A woman had an edged weapon, which she used to hurt herself, although not seriously according to police.

Police say she also threatened to kill the responding officers.

A taser was used to apprehend the woman under the mental health act.

She is now facing multiple criminal charges.
