Police believe they have identified the body of a man found along the shore of Lake Huron near Port Albert almost two weeks ago.

The body was discovered on Friday, Oct. 15, 2016 on the beach north of Port Albert.

Huron County OPP say they have found that the deceased was traveling from Alberta to somewhere in Ontario under the assumed name “Mitchell Nelson”. A journalist talked to the man and took photos of him near Espanola, north of Manitoulin Island, in September.

Investigators are working on confirming the victim’s name and are seeking help from the public.
