Police are investigating the theft of two ATMs in the area over the long weekend.

Early Sunday morning, two suspects broke into and stole a pickup truck in Guelph’s south end.

A short time later, they took the truck to an ATM vestibule on Southgate Drive, alongside a self-serve car wash, and allegedly used the pickup to rip the bank machine from the wall.

Guelph Police located the stolen truck nearby not long later.

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a similar theft.

Around 11:45 p.m.Monday, two culprits used a stolen pickup truck to smash through the doors of the No Frills grocery store on Haysville Road in New Hamburg.

Once inside, the truck was used to remove the ATM machine. The pickup truck was left close by as the suspects fled in a second vehicle.

Anyone having any information on either of these thefts is asked to contact police.
