Guns, knives and ammunition were found on a person who abandoned his vehicle after it crashed, Guelph Police say.

The collision occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday, at Watson Parkway North and Grange Road in the city’s east end.

One of the three vehicles involved in the collision left the scene, and was later found in the area of Watson and Severn Drive.

Two people were arrested a short time later.

Police say one of them had two replica guns, live ammunition, “several” knives and some break-in tools on his person, while the other had hydromorphine pills.

A 33-year-old Guelph man is charged with auto theft, failure to remain at the scene of a collision, possession of break-in tools, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of an unauthorized weapon.

A 26-year-old Guelph man is charged with drug possession.
