Waterloo Regional police say just before 4:00 a.m this morning a pizza delivery driver was held at knife point, by two men.

The incident happened at an apartment complex on Vanier driver in Kitchener.

The driver who is in his 50’s is at home recovering after suffering minor cuts to his arm.

Fellow driver Mouhamed Soulaiman says he is extremely upset after hearing that his colleague at Pepi’s Pizza was attacked.

“I can feel same will happen to me one day so I feel sorry for him,” says Soulaiman

According to the driver, two masked men approached him during a routine call to a building on Vanier drive. One of the attackers had a knife, the other a machete.

The driver escaped, and for the most part unharmed, but he had to hand over a large pizza order worth about $100.

Police say they are now looking for two men.

The first is described as a black male about 5’8, with a medium build. At the time he was wearing all black clothing, and gloves with a white face mask.

The second person is described as a white male, 6’0, with a medium build wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie, and a black mask.

John Guy owns three Pepi’s pizza locations in Kitchener, he says after similar robberies in the past they now take several precautions.

We do get them [drivers] to do drops every few hours especially on the weekends so they don’t have a lot of cash in their cars or on their person,” says Guy.

Guy says many people don’t realize the dangers his delivery staff face.

“They work hard and they're not making a lot of money really and to have to worry about getting robbed as well it's pretty sad.”
