Organizers of the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games have announced some of the communities their torch relay will pass through.

In total, the torch will pass through 130 municipalities, including Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Montreal and Halifax.

Of the torch’s 100-plus stops in Ontario, 51 have been dubbed “major celebration communities.”

Included in that list are Cambridge, Kitchener and Woodstock, as well as other western Ontario communities such as Chatham-Kent, Leamington, London, Orangeville, Owen Sound, Sarnia and Windsor.

The exact route the torch will take, as well as the names of other communities it will pass through, will be released in February 2015.

Organizers say the torch relay will last for 41 days and involve more than 3,000 carriers.

Any Canadian aged 13 or older is eligible to apply to be one of the torch-bearers.

Names will be chosen by random draw in December.

Next April, details will be announced about the Parapan Am Games torch relay, while will last for five days.
