A fire west of Owen Sound early Wednesday morning claimed one life and sent four people to hospital.

Grey County O.P.P. and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office continue to investigate a fatal fire.

Firefighters responded to a call around 3:00 am Wednesday to a house fire north of Jackson, west of Owen Sound, on Side Road 115.  Four occupants were able to evacuate the building.  A 33-year-old woman and two boys, ages 5 and 11, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.  A third child, a 7-year-old girl, was airlifted to a Toronto hospital with serious injuries.

The body of a fifth person has been located within the home and has been sent to London where a post mortem is scheduled for Friday.  Any other information, including the age, sex and possible relationship to the other occupants of the home has not been released.
