An overnight standoff at a home in Harriston, northwest of Listowel, ended with a 36-year-old man taken into custody.
The standoff began Tuesday night at 11 p.m., when Wellington County OPP were called to a home on Lorne Street in Harriston.
The man refused to communicate with police and barricaded himself inside the home as police set up a containment pattern on the property, bringing in OPP emergency response and tactical officers to assist out of a concern the man might harm himself or others in the home.
Around 9:15 Wednesday morning, the man was taken into custody without incident.
Police say nobody was injured, nobody else was in the home at the time, and their investigation continues.
