Waterloo Regional Police and the Ontario Fire Marshal are investigating an early morning fire at a home on a street called The Greenway in Cambridge. Police confirm that one person was seriously hurt. As a result the OFM was called in to investigate.
For now officials aren’t releasing many details surrounding the incident.
Detective Sergeant Ben Handfield confirms, that mid-afternoon Sunday, officials with the hospital had called to inform police the injuries were being upgraded to serious and life threatening.
Police say the person who was hurt lives in the house. Investigators say they aren't releasing the age or gender of the person, they say a family with children live in the home.
Investigators say at this time they don’t have a cause of the blaze and will remain on scene for some time.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them, or crime stoppers.
