A man has died in a Brantford house fire.
The fire broke out just before 1 a.m. Saturday on Hill Avenue.
The Brantford fire department “attended and extinguished the fire in one of the rooms, and discovered a male victim inside the house,” Clive Hubbard with the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office told CTV News.
“The person was taken to hospital and unfortunately passed away,” Hubbard continued.
“The fire marshal’s office has been called in to conduct an investigation into the origin, cause and circumstances of the fire as we do with all fatality fires,” Hubbard said.
The victim was the only person in the home at the time. No names have been released.
