Despite the extreme cold weather conditions, four women in Kitchener were outside dancing for women’s rights on Saturday.

The dance is in conjunction with the ‘One Billion Rising Revolution’ which is raising money and building awareness to end violence against women.

“On average one in three women will be raped or beaten in their lifetime. That’s what this flash mob is about, to bring awareness and to bring justice to everybody, regardless of gender,” says Kirstie Smallman, one of the organizers for One Billion Rising Revolution.

Peaceful demonstrations and flash mobs will be taking place around the world on Sunday to build awareness for the global campaign.
