Police are investigating a second weekend shooting incident in a Kitchener neighbourhood and are working to determine whether the two may be connected.
A gun was fired multiple times at the exterior of a home on Country Hill Dr. on Sunday, at around 12:45 a.m., according to police, who spent most of the day combing the area for evidence.
“This definitely was a targeted shooting. It was not random,” said Insp. Dave Bishop.
Police confirmed bullets did hit the house, but no one was hurt.
“Around 12:30 in the morning I heard six gun shots,” said Lucy Baker, who lives nearby. “I heard three and then it kind of stopped, and then I heard another three.”
This gunfire follows a shooting in the Pioneer Park area of Kitchener early Saturday, a location just a few kilometres away.
In that incident, multiple shots were fired at a townhome on Doon Village Rd., which police also characterized as a targeted attack.
Police said the shooter missed the intended target, hitting a townhouse next door instead.
There were no injuries.
“We have a number of investigative teams working on this right now and one of the things that they are working on is whether or not [the shootings] are connected and to what extent,” said Bishop.
