Three men were taken to hospital after a car collided head-on with a motorcycle Thursday evening.

Police say the motorcycle was headed south on Northfield Drive toward Line 86 around 6pm.

The driver of a Chevy Cobalt travelling in the opposite direction pulled out to pass a line of cars and collided head-on with the motorcycle.

The force of the crash spun the motorcycle around multiple times and the Chevy left the road and ended up in a field.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to Grand River Hospital with serious injuries but has since been airlifted to Hamilton where he is listed in critical condition.

The driver and passenger of the Cobalt were also taken to hospital for observation.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash but police are investigating speed and driver error as possible causes.

Witnesses say the line of northbound vehicles was travelling at the posted speed limit when the driver of the Cobalt pulled out to pass.

Charges have yet to be laid.
