Fire crews in Kitchener rescued a woman from the second floor of a burning home on Thursday.

Firefighters were called to a home on Blucher Street around 6:30 a.m.

Once the woman was rescued she was transported to hospital.

Officials say she has since been released.

Kitchener Fire says they also had to save three dogs from the home.

They believe the fire started in the kitchen and was electrical.

Damage is estimated at $150,000.
