A hangar at the Region of Waterloo International Airport that has sat vacant since it became embroiled in a murder investigation will soon have a new tenant.
Chartright Air Group, a charter company with over 30 private business jets, will move into the hangar previously occupied by Millard Air.
Chartright says they have outgrown their Toronto hangar and will be moving some of their operations, including their helicopter service centre, to Waterloo Region.
Chris Wood, the General Manager at the Region of Water International Airport, said in a press release: “Welcoming a tenant like Chartright to the Airport’s Aviation Business Park is a significant accomplishment for the airport and our community.”
Millard Air was the business of Dellen Millard, who is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Tim Bosma.
In 2011, the company signed a 50-year lease to operate one of the largest hangars at the Breslau-area airport.
It was believed Millard Air would use the space to perform repair work on large aircraft. Airport officials told CTV News they never saw any evidence of that taking place, but did see smaller aircraft and some non-aviation items around the hangar.
Other people who worked within eyesight of the hangar said they rarely saw any sort of activity in the area.
In the spring of 2013, police spent several days at the hangar as part of their investigation into Bosma’s murder.
