More tenants have officially been announced for a mammoth commercial development in Waterloo’s north end.

A 53,000-square-foot Sobeys grocery store will anchor the retail component of the Waterloo Commercial Campus – the former NCR bank machine manufacturing property at Weber Street and Northfield Drive.

Also announced Thursday were two of the development’s main commercial tenants, Sun Life Financial’s wealth management branch and Regis Executive Suites.

The redevelopment project was first announced in 2012.

“The market’s gone up and down, but we kept with our vision,” developer Mark Kindrachuk told CTV News.

Two tenants – an architect and a dentist – have already begun operations at the site.

In total, the property is expected to contain more than 90,000 square feet of space for offices, retail and restaurants.
