Police are asking the public for help figuring out what was going on when two young girls were approached by a suspicious vehicle as they walked to school.
Waterloo Regional Police say the 12-year-olds were walking Tuesday morning, in the area of St. Andrew’s Street and Churchill Drive in Cambridge, when a panel van drove past them and honked twice.
As the girls got closer to Cedar Street, the vehicle again passed them – this time stopping just ahead of their path.
The girls then ran straight to the school, police say.
They described the vehicle to police as a white, newer-model van with no passenger windows and a license plate starting with B and ending with V.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
