A Huron County man is dead following a two-vehicle crash just north of Goderich.
Around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, emergency responders were called to Highway 21 near Saltford Road.
Huron County OPP say a northbound minivan was headed northbound on the highway when it crossed to the other side of the road in an attempt to pass another vehicle.
After that, police say, it collided with a southbound pickup truck.
The driver of the minivan – 44-year-old Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh resident Michael Essery – was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck was not hurt.
Highway 21 remained closed in the area until around 3 a.m. Wednesday.
