Police have confirmed one person is dead following a single-vehicle collision at the corner of Whistle Bare Road and Dickie Settlement Road in North Dumfries, near Cambridge.
They said a 43-year-old Cambridge man, the lone occupant of the vehicle, is dead.
The collision happened around 3 a.m. on Friday morning, forcing the closure of two roads.
Police said the vehicle lost control and hit a pole on the passenger’s side.
Dickie Settlement Road from Fountain Street to Roseville Road will remain closed for the next few hours as police continue to investigate.
All of Whistle Bare Road is also closed.
Police have not yet released what factors may have caused the collision.
