Waterloo Regional Police say a missing bike stroller could help solve the suspicious death of Mary Anne May.

The body of May, 55, was found last month near the Grand River, in Tyson Park in northeast Kitchener.

Police have since canvassed both that area and May’s neighbourhood, near Margaret Avenue and Guelph Street, as part of their investigation.

The bike stroller, of which a photo was released Monday morning, is meant to be attached to a bicycle to carry children.

It is coloured bright yellow and red, and was seen outside May’s apartment building – but went missing shortly thereafter.

The stroller did not belong to May.

“Investigators believe that this stroller will contain some important clues into the death of Mary Anne May,” police spokesperson Olaf Heinzel tells CTV News.

Police have said that they know of May’s whereabouts up to the night of Sept. 18 – two days before her body was found.

Investigators are also continuing their search of May’s apartment building, where they returned last Friday with a search warrant and remained over the weekend.

“Our focus right now is on collecting forensic evidence at the scene,” says Heinzel.

“New information that came into the investigation led police back to the apartment.”
