The work, entitled "Portrait of Eddie Barnes and Ed Murphy, Lobster Fishermen, Bay View, N.S." is painted on beaverboard, a pulp board Lewis used for many of her paintings.

It is estimated to be worth $16,000 and is back in New Hamburg after a showing in Halifax.

The painting was discovered by volunteers with the Mennonite Central Committee Thrift Centre as they were sorting through general donations.

Bidding starts at 9 p.m. and closes May 19.
