An incident in Brantford has police reminding the public that they can be arrested for blowing marijuana smoke at police officers.

Brantford Police say that’s exactly what happened to one officer Wednesday night at a RIDE checkpoint on Paris Road.

They say one driver going through the checkpoint rolled down his window just a few inches, and didn’t respond when asked if he had consumed any alcohol.

The officer talking to the driver allegedly saw and smelled marijuana inside the vehicle.

After the officer again asked if any alcohol had been consumed, the driver allegedly blew a “large cloud of marijuana smoke” into the officer’s face.

A 25-year-old Brantford man is charged with drug possession.
