A 84-year-old Waterloo man was taken to hospital Monday morning after he was hit by a car in the city’s north end.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, the man had been crossing Northfield Drive at Skylark Road shortly before 9 a.m. when he was hit by the car.

Police say the car was making a left turn off of Skylark at the time.

Its driver, a 35-year-old Waterloo woman, has been charged with failing to yield the roadway to a pedestrian.

The man was treated in hospital for minor injuries.
