One man was arrested after a 911 call sparked a heavy police presence in a Kitchener neighbourhood.

Emergency crews were called to a building on Bond Street, near Lancaster and Union streets, around 5 p.m. Monday.

According to police, a woman claimed she had been threatened by a man inside the building and was being held there against her will.

After about an hour, a man was placed under arrest without incident. Police say the man will be facing charges.

Although police were told that the man had a gun with him, no weapon was seen by responding officers.
