WATERLOO, Ont. -- A 27-year-old Brampton man faces charges after he was allegedly caught spying on a woman at the University of Waterloo library.

Police say he was found touching himself and secretly recording a 30-year-old woman in the study area at the university's Davis Centre.

He allegedly used a hidden camera to record the woman, using his smartphone as a monitor.

Police say people in the library confronted the man and called police.

The unidentified man is being charged with voyeurism, committing an indecent act and possession of a controlled substance.

He had a court date Sunday.
