HopeSpring program facilitator's message on fundraising campaign

The following was written by Pamela Connell, a program facilitator at HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre
I have been facilitating support groups at HopeSpring for 18 years. It has been my privilege to companion those living with cancer through this nightmare, connecting them to each other and creating community, while preserving their dignity and wholeness.
If I could break your hearts today to make you open up your wallets, I would. But time is short, and our time for telling stories is almost done.
Instead I need to appeal to your better nature. I need you to put yourself in someone else's shoes to get the horror of a cancer diagnosis slamming into your life or the life of someone you love. Someone precious to you.
I don't want you to be one of the people whose loved one gets cancer and they have no where to come for support, and you have to live with the fact that YOU could have done something about that!!
Because my friends it will come. This disease is growing by leaps and bounds, and if it comes to your door?
Who you gonna call?
Today I reach out to the power brokers in our community. The auto makers, industry, insurance companies, tech companies--those who can make an immediate difference. We need your help urgently and we need it by Feb 27 to stay open. We can't do it alone.
Make some good karma for yourself. Please help us to help others. Please help us continue our important work here at HopeSpring.
