An Oxford County man is charged with animal cruelty after two kittens were allegedly found in a bag in the back of his truck.

Woodstock Police say they were called to a business on Norwich Avenue around 11 a.m. Monday.

The person calling them had claimed to have heard kittens howling from a burlap bag in the back of a pickup truck at a drive-thru business in the area.

Police responded and took the kittens to a veterinarian, who found them to be in fair condition despite elevated body temperatures.

A 51-year-old man from Norwich Township is charged with causing animals to suffer.

The Ontario SPCA is investigating the incident as well.
