A Kitchener salesman has been arrested for impersonating a police officer.

On August 27, OPP in Kingsville received several complaints about a man going door to door selling water heaters. Complainants said he was being belligerent and pushy.

One resident got in a disagreement with the salesman and said he was going to call police. The salesman said the resident didn`t have to call police, because he was a police officer.

When asked for his name, the man identified himself as one of the officers who had dealt with him earlier in the day.

Police located the salesman in the area and arrested him.

37-year-old James Storton of Kitchener will appear in Windsor court on September 25.
