More than a dozen people face a variety of charges following a weeks-long investigation into Waterloo Region’s crystal meth trade.

Waterloo Regional Police announced Monday that they had made 14 arrests earlier this month in four separate sweeps.

Two of the four incidents involved search warrants being executed at a Kitchener motel, while another saw police arrest six people at a Kitchener residence.

“They were involved in the sale of methamphetamine,” said Staff Sgt. Mike Haffner.

Police say they seized cash and drugs with a combined estimated street value of $10,522.

The 14 people arrested face a total of 65 charges, many of which are for breaching court orders or for possessing meth for the purpose of trafficking.

Twelve of the 14 are Kitchener residents, with one residing in Waterloo and another in Guelph.

They range in age from 18 to 64.
