It has been five years since a Waterloo resident was killed in a hit and run in Grand Bend, and police continue to investigate.

31-year-old Jason Pearson was walking down a dark road when he was hit on Grand Bend Line around 5 a.m. The vehicle left the scene, and another driver found Jason and called for help.

Jason later died of his injuries.

Police are looking for the driver of the vehicle that hit him, and they'd still like to speak to the driver of a vehicle seen in the area that night.

“Jason Pearson was a young man with family and friends who loved him dearly.  The driver that hit him needs to come forward, take responsibility and do the right thing.  We will continue to investigate until we can bring this investigation to a resolution and provide some level of closure for Jason’s loved ones,” said Huron County OPP Detective Constable Heather Macrae.
