By 2031, Waterloo Region's population is expected to be approaching 750,000.

All of those people have to live somewhere, and planners have made a concerted effort to direct them away from sprawling subdivisions in favour of more urban condos.

That strategy is starting to bear fruit -- approximately two out of every three new housing units built in the region is a condo.
