A man from Kitchener was killed Thursday afternoon in an industrial accident at a Guelph business.

Police say the 26-year-old man was an electrician working at the Polycon Industries plant on Independence Place as a contractor.

According to police, the man was pinned by a machine inside the auto parts manufacturing facility.

His name has not been released.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour, which is investigating the incident, said that the man was employed by Gordon Electric Ltd.

Last summer, a 22-year-old man from Cambridge died when a steel plate fell on top of him as he performed construction work at the same facility.
