More than 600 pigs were killed when a pig barn burned to the ground north of Auburn in Huron County early Saturday morning.
Crews from four area stations responded to a phone call from a passerby at around 2 a.m.
The barn was fully engulfed when fire fighters arrived and all 640 pigs inside perished.
Damaged is expected to exceed $1 million.
The fire marshal’s office was called in to help determine a cause, but officials said they did not believe the fire was suspicious.
