Toronto police are investigating after the discovery of what appears to be a human hand at a north Toronto recycling centre.

Police say the possible remains were found by an employee inside an industrial recycling bin at Canada Fibers Limited.

The discovery comes two weeks after the torso of a missing 30-year-old woman was found outside a Toronto butcher shop.

A 38-year-old man has been charged with committing an indignity to a body in connection with that discovery but police are not saying whether they believe the two discoveries are linked.
