Three people were transported to hospital, and a horse euthanized, after a horse drawn buggy was hit by a car near of Millbank.

Perth County OPP say the crash happened on Perth Road 121 around 5 p.m. Monday.  A horse drawn buggy was heading out of Millbank towards Dorking on the gravel shoulder. Police say a Honda Civic travelling in the same direction swerved toward the shoulder and rear-ended the buggy.  The impact shattered the buggy.

The 62-year-old man driving the buggy and a 61-year-old female passenger were sent to hospital.  Both escaped the crash with what police described as minor injuries.  The car driver was also transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The horse suffered extensive injuries in the crash and was euthanized at the scene.

A man from Hanover has been charged with careless driving.
