Wildlife officials are asking the public to help them figure out who’s responsible for two recent shootings of trumpeter swans at the Luther Marsh Wildlife Management Area northeast of Arthur.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, one swan was found floating in the marsh by a conservation officer last week.

Authorities believe the swan was shot during the first few days of October, then left in the water.

Around 9 a.m. Monday, multiple hunters reported seeing another trumpeter be shot down while flying in the marsh area.

Anyone with information is urged to contact a ministry tips line at 1-977-847-7667.
