A Guelph man has been charged with assault with a weapon after allegedly attacking his neighbour in the hallway of their building.

Guelph Police say the attack brought them to a building on Woolwich Street Thursday morning.

Investigators believe that the 73-year-old man hit his neighbour in the head and the hand with a cane, then left the area in his wheelchair.

The two men “have not had the best of relationships,” police say.

The 73 year old was located by officers nearby and placed under arrest.

Police say the neighbour needed minor medical attention.
