A $460,000 donation has been made to the University of Guelph for research into Wellington County’s groundwater.
The donation comes from Nestle Waters Canada and will go to the G360 Centre for Applied Groundwater Research.
“Protecting drinking water from harmful contamination and exploitation is a shared responsibility,” said Beth Parker, the director of the research centre, in a press release. “These municipalities are facing significant water demands through residential and industrial growth.”
Part of the funding will be used for a study to examine groundwater sustainability in southern Wellington County.
