An inquest examining the death of a Cambridge man doing construction work in Guelph will take place next week.

The inquest will look into the death of Andrew Jajko, a 22-year-old man who died in July 2014.

He was working for a construction company doing work on the Polycon Industries property at the corner of Elmira Road and Independence Place.

The Ministry of Labour said at the time that a steel plate had come loose and fallen on top of the worker while he was installing it.

The inquest will begin Tuesday morning at the Carden Street courthouse. It is expected to last for three days.

Jurors may make recommendations that could help prevent similar deaths.
