Nearly 1,500 marijuana plants were found in a former school in the Belleville area, police say – and a Guelph man is one of three people facing charges as a result.

Northumberland OPP say they found 1,451 plants, as well as about two kilograms of processed marijuana, at the former South Cramahe Public School near Edville, west of Belleville, last week.

Also seized were two vehicles found at the site.

The 37-year-old Guelph man, a 58-year-old Scarborough man and a 34-year-old Mississauga man are charged with producing marijuana and possessing marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
