An 80-year-old man who died after being struck while crossing the street has been identified as Harry Leach.
Leach was struck shortly before noon on Wednesday after getting off a bus on College Avenue between Edinburgh Road and Scottsdale Drive.
Police say he was likely walking to nearby College Place by Revera Retirement Home where he lived.
Guelph Police Sgt. Doug Pflug says “It’s very early in the investigation and a very tragic result so our officers did close the laneway and the intersection for quite some time to conduct a full reconstructive analysis of the accident.”
The 17-year-old driver involved was not injured and no charges have yet been laid.
