A 49-year-old Guelph man accused of first degree murder appeared in court on Friday.

Sean Haverty is accused of killing 38-year-old Chris Schweitzer last month.

Police were called to a home on Tiffany St in Guelph on June 18th. Police say Haverty and Schweitzer had some sort of altercation that night. Officials are not saying how Schweitzer died.

According to a public court document, Haverty lived a few doors down from where the incident happened.

Haverty’s lawyer received a full disclosure in court on Friday, which is essentially all the evidence against his client.

He says he will review the disclosure before they decide on applying for bail.

Haverty’s next court appearance is by audio on September 4th.
