A small community east of Arthur is being warned that flooding is possible in their area.

The Grand River Conservation Authority issued a flood warning for Grand Valley, which sits north of Belwood Lake, near the northern tip of the Grand watershed.

In a statement, the GRCA said that road crews should monitor the condition of Highway 25, which may require closing depending how high water levels become.

The rest of the watershed is expected to see higher water levels than normal for the rest of the week, the GRCA said – although serious flooding is not expected based on forecasts in effect as of Monday afternoon.

The flood warning was the result of rainfall from Sunday night and Monday morning leading to higher river flows than had been expected.
