General Motors' CAMI Assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ont. is expected to hire more than 200 people over the next year.

An expansion at the plant over the next 12 months is expected to create the additional jobs.

Wages will start at $20 per hour and most positions will be full time.

Hiring is expected to begin in the next two weeks and continue for several months, ahead of the start of production of a new SUV.

Cami recently completed a building expansion, and GM announced a $560-million investment in February to build the next generation Chevrolet Equinox.

The plant currently has about 3,000 hourly and salaried workers.
