An unidentified buyer has made an offer for Everest College’s Ontario campuses.

The 14 campuses shut down last month after the province pulled the school’s licence, citing financial concerns.

One day later, Everest College declared bankruptcy.

Hundreds of students called for the province to do something to help them complete their programs.

If a buyer is found, the province will consider approving the school’s registration – but it’s not up to the province to find a buyer.

“Any Everest sale agreement must be negotiated between the trustee in bankruptcy and the potential purchaser,” May Nazar, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, told CTV News in an email.

Still, word of an interested party was good news to Kirsten Daudlin, who found herself $13,000 in the hole after completing all but seven weeks of a one-year course at Everest.

“It’s exciting, but I don’t really want to get my hopes up,” she said.

Everest College had 2,400 students across Ontario, including some at a campus in Kitchener.
