A total of 39 charges have now been laid against a former scout troop leader in the Wingham area.

Huron County OPP announced Thursday that Martin Cretier is now accused of 10 more historical sex offences, in addition to the 29 allegations levied against him last year.

The accusations now span a time period stretching from 1971 to 2001, involving a total of 10 victims – whose ages at the time of the alleged offences range from nine to 21.

Cretier allegedly came into contact with the 10 children through his volunteer work as a scout leader in Wingham and his job at the Wingham and District Hospital.

The charges announced Tuesday include three counts apiece of sexual assault, indecent assault and gross indecency, and one count of sexual interference.

Police say they want to hear from anyone else with information regarding Cretier.
