Fire crews from St. George and Paris were called out to an early-morning blaze north of Brantford.

When the firefighters arrived at the farm on Highway 24, between Governors Road and German School Road, they discovered a barn engulfed in flames.

Although the crews were able to protect another barn nearby, the barn was destroyed.

In the process of the barn burning down, the roof collapsed so investigators were not able to immediately enter the site to determine the cause of the fire. The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office will be investigating the cause.

No damage estimate has been made, but the building held no livestock and nobody was injured in the fire.
