A Cambridge man has been fined a total of $1,500 for two offences related to deer hunting in North Dumfries.

The charges related to an incident on Nov. 12, when a conservation officer spotted the man hunting.

According to Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, the man was found to have been using an illegal centre-fire rifle to shoot at deer, and to not have a validation tag.

In Kitchener court this week, he was fined $1,000 for using the illegal hunting weapon and $500 for not hunting with a validation tag.
