A 58-year-old Guelph woman is dead following a house fire on Saturday morning.
Guelph Fire Department responded to a house fire at 71 Fairmeadow Drive, shortly after 8 A.M.
Two Guelph Police officers pulled a person from the rear of the house. The officers were treated at Guelph General Hospital for smoke inhalation and later released.
The woman was the only person in the house. Fire investigators say the blaze was contained to the bedroom.
Two family pets were also killed in the fire.
The Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
