Four alleged impaired drivers were found by police over the Thanksgiving weekend in Brant and Oxford counties, OPP report.

Three of the drivers were stopped in Brant County, including two along different stretches of Highway 24.

Brant County OPP say they also stopped two vehicles where drivers were found to have alcohol levels between 50 mg and the legal limit, prompting driving suspensions.

Oxford County OPP laid a total of 79 traffic-related charges between Friday and Monday.

In addition to the one alleged impaired driver, that total includes 52 speeding offences, 15 hazardous moving violations and 11 seatbelt infractions.

Perth County OPP did not discovery any impaired drivers on roads under their jurisdiction over the weekend, even though they set up five checkpoints.

What they did find, they say, were 61 speeders, 24 hazardous moving violations, four improper uses of seatbelts and two distracted drivers.

Several serious collisions were also reported in Perth County over the long weekend, as well as four collisions with deer and one involving a porcupine.
